There's a reason this show exists, and it starts with my mom.
She immigrated from the Philippines with big dreams and a work ethic that could outrun anyone's. She spent decades saying someday — someday she'd travel, someday she'd slow down, someday she'd do all the things she'd been saving up for. She never got her someday. She passed away before she ever got to retire, before the trip she'd been putting off for as long as I can remember.
That loss changed something in me. We weren't going to wait. Not for the kids to be older, not for things to calm down, not for some future version of our life that might never come. We decided to live fully and adventurously right now.
So we packed up our three kids and started cooking our way across Europe.
What is Fork in the Road?
Fork in the Road is a travel cooking show that follows our homeschool adventures throughout the world. In each episode, we travel to a new destination, cook on location with regional chefs, visit sacred sites, and bring our kids along for absolutely every moment of it.
Our kids have been travel homeschooling since the beginning. They have opinions about pasta. Strong ones. They've stood in ancient churches and asked hard questions about faith. They've rolled dough next to people who've been doing it for decades, learning things no textbook could teach them. That's the show — and that's our life.
Our family also holds dual Italian citizenship, which means Italy isn't just a destination for us. It's part of who we are.
